DAVID RICH, LCSW

Dave Rich, LCSW, earned his Master’s graduate degree from Columbia University School of Social Work with certification in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training program and lab under Andre Ivanoff, Ph.D. He brings great enthusiasm in providing all aspects of DBT for adolescents, young adults, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and impulsive behavior. Dave is an individual DBT therapist, a DBT Skills Coach for adults and families, and is an integral part of BHBA’s weekly DBT consultation team. Providing a collaborative treatment approach with clients and working together to attain therapy goals is Dave’s passion and he strives to empower clients to keep finding new ways to make therapy work for them. 

His previous experience includes two years working as lead mental health worker in the Adolescent Male Inpatient Unit at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where he provided group and individual crisis stabilization and DBT therapy. Dave also has extensive experience counseling pre-teens and adolescents in various after-school and camp settings throughout the East Coast for over 12 years. 

Dave has a passion for playing music, especially drums, and values using all types of creative thinking and approaches as ways for therapist and client to make therapy more enjoyable, lasting, and effective.
